a life time of memories

MY DAD
For sometime now we knew my father was slowly getting worse each year. We thought we or should I say, I thought I was ready for his passing. The photo is a past picture. In the past years my father started losing weight and was a frail thing when he passed. This past month has been a blur especially when he went into the hospital. My mom at his side and us scrambling to find answers on what needed to be done. Sitting with him the night before he passed was not easy. I could see in his eye's and hear it in his voice,he was tired. To see a man who once carried you on his shoulders,to a man who could not lift up his arms to feed himself.
He wanted to go home.
A little girl I still feel like when all the memories come flooding in. A little girls love for her father. Even when I was a teenager and didn't want to hear what my dad had to say. Funny it always take is growing up and having a family of your own, to realize your father was right. I finally went by his grave sight today, dirt still fresh and he got his bronze marker for serving in the Korean War. Tears finding there way back again as I looked at were he is buried. You are Home.

Over the years I have grown to keep my life filled with all types of music. To me it's a blessing to be able to take in the beauty that artist create and share with us. So going to live concerts whether they are big or small will change you the moment the first note is played. Sometimes we don't think twice about the artist that don't have music playing the big radio stations or playing the big stadiums. You will never know when you will find an artist that is amazing, so I encourage you to go see these small time artist and let it change your life.
In my local town we have a botanical garden that has a summer series of different artist. I decided to take in one of those shows. The artist name is May Erlewine. She is Michigan based and does shows all around Michigan and parts of Indiana. Enjoy and maybe you can catch her live someday.

Plum Creek
This year I've taken a few trips. Keeping me busy and off the computer. Each trip turned out great but this last trip brought me to a place that I got to know well by reading the books called Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder. When I was a little girl I read all her books about her life growing up in late 1800's and like many others I watched the TV show too. Yes, I know it was just a show but the books and how she talked about growing up fascinated me. So I have a friend that lives in Minnesota now so we decided to take a short trip to Walnut Grove, to one of the first places Laura grew up. There is a nice museum there that contains a lot of history on the Ingalls family and others who she wrote about in her books. To actually see photos of the real Ma, Pa, Laura, Mary and Carrie, along with letters Laura wrote herself. Then just a mile out of town we got to visit where Pa built a dugout home along Plum Creek. Of course the home is no longer there but the hole in the hill still exist and the plum thickets she talks about still grows and the prairie fields she once played in still is there.

Snow White
I know I've been very absent due to real life. I have managed to put a few new concerts in this year. Hopefully I will find time soon to add them to my list of seen artist. I just wanted to stop in and share the apple of my eye. My grand- daughter Trinity dressed up in the Snow White costume we made for her.

Sean McConnell
Wow I thought I would never find time to get back on here. I've been going to concerts and need to update my list of artist.
I also was starting to wonder if I would find another artist to even make me want to post about them. Well the wait is over. Last month I went to see Kris Allen perform again, this time in Chicago. I saw him a couple of years ago and was happy to see he was playing in Chicago. I love his voice and he is funny, so please catch is act if he comes near you.
We got there after the starting act had already started but this guys voice just blew me away. I had to buy his cd's so I could hear more of his music. His name is Sean McConnell. I don't know much about him other than his voice is piercing.

Do you see the gift??
Do You See The Gift????
As always this year went by way faster than I had hoped. I went in search for a song that I could post Christmas morning. I looked and listen to many songs done by different artist, adults and children. They were all good but I really didn't see or felt like posting any of them.
Then the other day it came to me. I opened up youtube and in my suggestions was this artist.
I was moved by this artist and knew this was the video I wanted to share because at the end you read, " Do You See The Gift?"
This question said it all and made me look back on this year and my past. What does this question mean to you?
Merry Christmas

Enchanted Forest
To this day I believe in fairies. Why Not???
I found last year online, a place not to far from where I live, that captivates my thoughts. The place is located in Allegan, Michigan. Twice a year Fat Blossoms Farms holds a festival. They normally have school/ scouts groups come to visit through out the year, but twice a year they open to the public to come see their enchanted forest. So I took my Granddaughter there to go find some Fairies last weekend.
When you first set out on foot the path takes you past a nice meadow. I'm sure there are lots of fairy's hiding there.
She was off to go find some fairies in the woods
She found a fairy rest stop
We found many cute homes along the way.
This tree was called Grandma Maple Tree. I couldn't believe the size of this tree!!!
The best part about the whole forest was having my granddaughter turn around and ask me " Did you hear that?" (something moved in the woods). I said "what did you hear?". She said, " I hear a fairy"
By the time we left there our hearts and eyes were open, and we could hear the fairies.
