A Taste of Winter

Green River Ordinance

This past weekend I got to see a band.
Green River Ordinance has been playing as a group for about 13 years.
The concert was held funny enough at a German Restaurant in downtown Indianapolis, IN.
Once the concert started the smell of sauerkraut seemed to disappear...but the place was really cool and the food was amazing.
Opening acts were JD Eicher and Rosi Golin, both were great singers...

GRO gives out a sound of Country, Rock, Pop, and Folk, Green River Ordinance is a band that constantly challenges the borders of genre. However as their music continues to mature and change, GRO still holds true to the pursuit of music that speaks to the soul and moves your feet.

here are some of the pictures I was able to get during the show.

I See Fire

Take this moment, this moment in time to

stop

To stop and step out into the world that music takes us.

This song tells a story and when I close my eyes, I see more then just fire.  I don't just hear this song, I feel this song......
I see this song....

at certain points of the song, I feel like I'm standing there in front of a painting of a black and white world and I'm throwing paint of all colors at it. Let music set your soul on fire.

Two Gallants

Broken Eye (acoustic)

A very laid back song.  A song you can sit back and enjoy at the end of the day or really anytime of the day.

a day spent in the fields of grapes

I got the opportunity yesterday to go on a wine tasting tour.  Through out Michigan, winery's are plentiful for those who love wine. I will admit I'm not much of a wine drinker but one can not resist the atmosphere these places have.  With the fall weather at it's best and to sit outside with your wine admiring the country side filled with grapes,it certainly draws you in.

Ryan Adams

Ryan Adams is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer. He is best known for his prolific solo career, and as a former member of alt-country band Whiskeytown, with whom he recorded three studio albums.

I would like to think I have heard of this guy before but the more I listen to him I can't for the life of me remember hearing Ryan Adams before yesterday.

I can't believe I haven't heard of him before, he's certainly caught my attention now.  He certainly doesn't look like your typical country singer but his songs give a soulful feel to them that I love.

If you get a chance listen to his acoustic versions. Also his song called Burning Photographs is one to listen too

Mark Rose (acoustic)

I posted a few weeks ago about being invited to a private concert.  I'm so glad I went to hear Mark Rose preform for only 7 of us in the privacy of someones home.

His voice had me captivated and he had us laughing in-between songs with stories about his career, family, and about the owners dog.

Mark Rose, lives in Chicago and still tours, but in- between tours you can hire him for these private shows.  The more that comes  the cheaper it is to pay.  One of the guest has decided to hire him for another private show in November and I'm invited to it.

What better way to get to hear an artist.....and get on a personal level with them.... I wish more artist did this..

The lighting in the room was low so the video quality is not that great

Gary Clark Jr. - The Chosen One

Have you heard of Gary Clark Jr. ?   Rolling Stones magazine ran an article on him in their August issue,
entitling it "The Chosen One"

Quote from the article:

"He made Eric Clapton want to play again, and Buddy Guy thinks he might save the blues. but Gary Clark Jr. isn't sure he wants to be the next great guitar hero"

Whether this man is the next great guitar hero or not.  He certainly has soul

a connection with the tide

As I sit on fine sand. The wind and waves are at their best today. My blood is pounding as the waves hit me over and over.
It's a connection that keeps bringing me back to hear it in my heart.....
I feel the music

Mark Rose

Mark Rose, is a 29 year old Chicago native.  He was once the front man for indie/emo tastemakers Spitalfield.

I got an invite to see him perform on August 30th at some one's house for a private concert.

I've never been to a private concert. So this will be interesting to see how he sounds.  I'm not sure yet if he is singing outside or inside, but after listening to a couple of his songs, I'm sure I will enjoy it either way.

Georgiana

I also like his song called "Watch the Water Dry" but for some reason I can't seem to bring it up on here to post it.
