Pain

Pain - it demands to be felt
Quote from the movie "The Fault In Our Stars"

Birdy  "Not About Angels"

We know full well there's just time
So is it wrong to dance this line
If your heart was full of love
Could you give it up?

 what about, what about angels
They will come, they will go make us special
Don't give me up
Don't give me up

How unfair, it's just our luck
Found something real that's out of touch
But if you'd searched the whole wide world
Would you dare to let it go?

Because what about, what about angels
They will come, they will go make us special
Don't give me up
Don't give me up

Because what about, what about angels
They will come, they will go make us special

It's not about not about angels, angels

Fleetwood Mac

I have been chasing concerts these past months so there has been no time to post about them.   I hope by next month I will find time to start posting some of the concerts I went too.

For now I just got to go see the one and only Fleetwood Mac.  All original band members are on this tour.  (please correct me if I'm wrong)
They played at least 2hrs and 45mins total.

                                                                      Christine McVie

                                                              Lindsey Buckingham

                                                                John McVie

                                                                  Stevie Nicks

                                                                Mick Fleetwood

Stevie is one of my all time favorite female artist besides Pat Bentar

Loved the back drops to each songs.  They certainly set the mood to each song.

new concerts coming up

This is one of the four photos I have entered into a photo contest at our zoo.  If my photo is picked, it will be in next years zoo calendar.

As far as concert news.  I really haven't heard any new artist/song that has been worth posting about, but I am busy going to a few concerts these next few months.

Last month I was able to go see a country artist by the name of Phil Vassar.  He put on a great show and loved him playing the piano.   Thanks to my concert going buddy, I managed to get a meet and greet with Phil Vassar before the show!!!

I did manage to get one video of him singing a song and some nice photos. I just need to find the time to uplaod them.

Future shows that I do have tickets to see.

July 19th -  Three Doors Down

Aug 3 -  One Republic, Script, American Authors

Sept -  Scotty McCreary

Oct 2 - FleetWood Mac

I feel like a kid in a candy store right now, with all these great concerts going on.
I just heard Buddy Guy is coming to my local town so I'm sure to go see him again. Now earlier I was just getting out of the car when they annouced on the radio that Santana is coming to a casino near me. I hope I can land some tickets for that too.

I hope all of you are having a nice summer

All of the Stars

I'm not into reality shows anymore like I use to be.  In the beginning I was an avid American Idol fan.  I gave up watching it when I started college(about 4 years ago) and never went back to watching it.  From time to time I might watch a clip of a singer that everyone is raving about, but other wise I don't watch the Voice or Idol.

So, I'm seeing reports on the news that a guy from my state Indiana is in the finals on Voice.  His name is Josh Kauffman from Indianapolis.   So I look up a few of his clips and see why everyone is loving his voice. Great voice but that isn't what caught my attention.

He was going up against a girl by the name Christina Grimme.  On the finale she does a duet with Ed Sheeran (one of my favorite singers)
their voiced together blended so well and stole my heart

Kongos

I love the instruments they are using in this song- how many groups still use an accordion?  Well at least I haven't seen too many.  This group is made up of brothers that derive from South Africa.

They are even coming near me soon to play but I don't think I can make this show.

I love the beginning of the video

Death Cab For Cutie

I always find it fascinating how a group gets it's name.

I am sure it's an interesting story how they came up with Death Cab For Cutie.  Until I find out the story behind the name, I'm enjoying their music.

Wizard of OZ 75th anniversary

I will always love Julie Garlands version of  "Some Where Over the Rainbow'

I didn't watch the Oscars but they celebrated the 75th anniversary of Wizard of Oz by a stunning performance from Pink,  who was wearing a glittering red dress and captured this timeless song to shots from the movie.

Don't Be Shy

Cat Stevens

"Don't Be Shy"

Don't be shy just let your feelings roll on by
Don't wear fear or nobody will know you're there
Just lift your head, and let your feelings out instead
And don't be shy, just let your feeling roll on by
On by

You know love is better than a song
Love is where all of us belong
So don't be shy just let your feelings roll on by
Don't wear fear or nobody will know you're there
You're there

Don't be shy just let your feelings roll on by
Don't wear fear or nobody will know you're there
Just lift your head, and let your feelings out instead
And don't be shy, just let your feeling roll on by
On by, on by, etc.

I see more than just snow

I see another world in each snow flake

Read All About It

lyrics: Read All About It by Emeli Sande

You've got the words to change a nation
But you're biting your tongue
You've spent a life time stuck in silence
Afraid you'll say something wrong
If no one ever hears it how we gonna learn your song?
So come, on come on
Come on, come on
You've got a heart as loud as lions
So why let your voice be tamed?
Baby we're a little different
There's no need to be ashamed
You've got the light to fight the shadows
So stop hiding it away
Come on, Come on

I wanna sing, I wanna shout
I wanna scream till the words dry out
So put it in all of the papers,
I'm not afraid
They can read all about it
Read all about it oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh

At night we're waking up the neighbors
While we sing away the blues
Making sure that we remember yeah
Cause we all matter too
If the truth has been forbidden
Then we're breaking all the rules
So come on, come on
Come on, come on,
Let's get the tv and the radio
To play our tune again
It's 'bout time we got some airplay of our version of events
There's no need to be afraid
I will sing with you my friend
Come on, come on

I wanna sing, I wanna shout
I wanna scream till the words dry out
So put it in all of the papers,
I'm not afraid
They can read all about it
Read all about it oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh

Yeah we're all wonderful, wonderful people
So when did we all get so fearful?
Now we're finally finding our voices
So take a chance, come help me sing this
Yeah we're all wonderful, wonderful people
So when did we all get so fearful?
And now we're finally finding our voices
So take a chance, come help me sing this

I wanna sing, I wanna shout
I wanna scream till the words dry out
So put it in all of the papers,
I'm not afraid
They can read all about it
Read all about it oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh

I wanna sing, I wanna shout
I wanna scream till the words dry out
So put it in all of the papers,
I'm not afraid
They can read all about it

Read all about it oh

This song has left me limp on the floor but at the same time so much emotion is flowing through me with each word. I want to dance around the room and sing , I want to shout, I wanna scream till the words dry out.
I find myself thinking this is a great song defining our society and how we should stand up and let others hear our voice.
Not only is this a wonderful song but the performance this group did to the song certainly hit home to anyone who watches it.
I found myself listening to a few of Emeli's songs and found I like her music.
